Spencer Thompson

Spencer is a Senior Knowledge Exchange Fellow at the Fraser of Allander Institute.

His work focuses on child poverty, social security, and social care. He was previously an Economic Adviser in the Scottish Government and an Analysis Manager at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. His academic background lies in institutional economics and development studies, with a focus on cooperative enterprise. He also has experience teaching and supervising students in economics.

Spencer has a PhD and MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge and a first-class honours degree in Economics and Politics from the University of York.
