2026 Scotland and Wales Election Analysis Ep 6: Higher Education in Wales

FAI Deputy Director João Sousa is joined by Ed Poole and Guto Ifan of the Wales Governance Centre to talk about higher education funding and spending in Wales, why there is such a crisis in Welsh institutions and what parties are and aren’t saying about it.

João is Deputy Director and Senior Knowledge Exchange Fellow at the Fraser of Allander Institute. Previously, he was a Senior Fiscal Analyst at the Office for Budget Responsibility, where he led on analysis of long-term sustainability of the UK's public finances and on the effect of economic developments and fiscal policy on the UK's medium-term outlook.
