2026 Scotland and Wales Election Analysis Ep 13: Health spending in Wales


FAI Deputy Director João Sousa is joined by Ed Poole and Guto Ifan to talk about the health service and health spending in Wales: how spending levels and growth look compared to other parts of the UK, the performance of the health service and what the manifestos say about this most important of government spending areas.

João is Deputy Director and Senior Knowledge Exchange Fellow at the Fraser of Allander Institute. Previously, he was a Senior Fiscal Analyst at the Office for Budget Responsibility, where he led on analysis of long-term sustainability of the UK's public finances and on the effect of economic developments and fiscal policy on the UK's medium-term outlook.
