Authors
Mairi is the Director of the Fraser of Allander Institute. Previously, she was the Deputy Chief Executive of the Scottish Fiscal Commission and the Head of National Accounts at the Scottish Government and has over a decade of experience working in different areas of statistics and analysis.

Angela Mitchell
Angela Mitchell is Deloitte’s Senior Partner for Scotland & Northern Ireland, overseeing Deloitte's business and teams across our offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Belfast. We work with clients across Financial Services, Energy and Public Sector in Scotland. My day job is Government and Public Sector, and I have worked across the public sector in Scotland for the last 28 years. My background is in digital, I moved into IT when it was a very new field and have loved witnessing and being part of the fascinating journey over 3 decades as technology has evolved and had an ever-increasing impact on our lives.

Lesley McEwan
Lesley McEwan,Director in Deloitte’s Infrastructure and Capital Programmes team. I’m based here in Scotland but I work with clients across the UK and beyond. I’ve been with the team for over 12 years. I have been working across both public and private sector clients in the energy transition space – from a private perspective in M&A and PPA advisory and from a public sector space in policy design, implementation and other associated work.

Claire Mack
As Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables since 2017, Claire has led the organisation’s work to support the growth of Scotland’s renewable energy industry through a momentous decade for energy policy.
Prior to Scottish Renewables, Claire was Director of Policy and Place at Scottish Council for Development and Industry – now Prosper. This built on a career working at Ofcom through various roles across regulation of broadcasting, telecoms and mail.
Most recently, Claire was appointed as the Co-Chair of the Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council (SOWEC) which complements her membership of the First Minister’s Energy Advisory Board.

Susan McDonald
Susan is the UK Energy Transition Lead in Deloitte’s Net Zero Transformation team. She is an award winning Electrical and Mechanical Engineer and has over 11 years’ experience in designing and delivering strategic transformation programmes for clients from the power, utilities and renewables sectors. Susan supports her clients to shape their net zero strategies, transform their business, and guide them through the energy transition.
Sanjam Suri is a Knowledge Exchange Fellow at the Fraser of Allander Institute. Sanjam works closely with internal and external partners specializing in business and economic analysis. Sanjam also lead's the Scottish Business Monitor publication. Prior to this, Sanjam was the Lead Country Risk Analyst at Export Development Canada in Ottawa. Sanjam has also worked as an Economist and Senior Economist at the Bank of Canada in Ottawa. Sanjam has an undergraduate degree in Mathematical Economics from Trent University (Canada), and a Masters degree in Financial Economics from Western University (Canada).
