Join us for our 2026 Scotland and Wales Election events

Looking to understand more about the claims in the parties manifestos this campaign? Do their claims add up? And what is the fiscal situation shaping the elections and the next Senedd and Scottish Parliament terms?

We have an exciting set of events for you, bringing together experts from the Fraser of Allander Institute at the University of Strathclyde and Cardiff University’s Wales Governance Centre to help you separate the fact from the fiction as we get closer to polling day.

Bangor: Tuesday, 21 April, 13.00-15.00

Dr Ed Poole, Guto Ifan and Owain Cynfab of the Wales Governance Centre will present a briefing on party manifestos for the 2026 Senedd elections and analysis of polling data and public attitudes, delivered jointly with colleagues from Bangor University’s Albery Gubay Business School.

Edinburgh: Thursday, 23 April, 15.15-16.45

Professor Mairi Spowage, Dr João Sousa and Ciara Crummey of the Fraser of Allander Institute will assess the main areas of challenge for the coming Scottish Parliament election, the credibility of the manifestos presented and the fiscal context facing the incoming government.

Cardiff: Friday, 1 May, 17.30-19.30 (joint event with the Institute for Fiscal Studies)

David Phillips (Institute for Fiscal Studies), Dr Ed Poole, Guto Ifan (Wales Governance Centre), Dr João Sousa and Ciara Crummey (Fraser of Allander Institute) will examine the fiscal landscape and party manifestos shaping the final days of the campaign for the 2026 Senedd and Scottish Parliament elections.
